My Faith Statement

Renee from Hidden Blessings Decor

My name is Renee Woodford, Owner of Hidden Blessings Decor and Gifts in Phoenix, AZ.  I am an unashamed follower of Jesus Christ, the one and only Son of the living God.  I accepted Jesus as my Savior on June 1st, 1997 after finally realizing I don't have all the answers and messed up my life trying to fill that hole in my heart that just had something missing.  It was Jesus I needed all along!  He was the answer I was looking for!   I now have hope and unexplainable peace when life doesn't go as planned, and I no longer fear death.

What I believe

I believe Jesus left His heavenly throne, entered our world through birth from a virgin and lived a sinless life as an example and as a sacrificial spotless lamb.  I believe He walked the earth as 100% God and 100% man, and took on our experience so we could relate to Him.  I believe He died on a cross to take all of our sin on Himself - past, present, and future - then rose from the grave 3 days later to conquer death and sin and satan once and for all!

I believe the entire Bible is God's spoken, inerrant Word, even the parts I don't particularly like and aren't popular.  I believe that God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit (usually referred to as the Trinity) are all one.  All are God's true nature.

I believe salvation comes from recognizing our brokenness, asking forgiveness and turning away from sin, and asking Jesus into our hearts to be our Savior, and that He sends His Holy Spirit to live in us from the day of salvation forward.  I believe that once we accept Jesus as our Savior, we cannot lose our salvation, and that He is helping us to live this life with the purpose of leading others into that precious salvation with the Holy Spirit's prompting.  We cannot work our way into Heaven.  Jesus paid it all and made our salvation possible with the work He did on the cross.  Period.  End of story.  Praise God!

Do you feel that emptiness you have been trying to fill with things or relationships or temporary numbing through alcohol, drugs, food, or whatever?  We all have a void in our hearts that only God can fill because we were made to have a relationship with Him.  In reality, God is holy and perfect and can't allow sin to be near Him.  Even the nicest, most well-behaved person can't approach Him because sin is still present.  Because God yearns for a relationship with us, He sacrificed His son, Jesus, to pay the price for ALL of our sin.

All you have to do is talk to Jesus right where you are (hint:  He's excited to hear from you!).  You don't have to be in church to talk to Him.  Tell Him you recognize your brokenness, ask His forgiveness, repent of your sin, believe that He died for you, and accept Him as your Savior.  That's it, that's all.

It's so simple, but your eternity is altered permanently for the better.  You are transformed into a new person and the Holy Spirit lives inside you!  You're still in a human body of course with all the same temptations but know that Jesus is with you!  You now have a solid hope!  There is a very real enemy we face while we are still in this world but stay plugged into Jesus, because He already conquered the enemy.

If you accepted Jesus please let me know!  I want to help you with next steps so you don't feel like, "now what??"

Send an email to to let me know and for resources to help you on your new faith journey!  All of Heaven celebrates every time someone trusts in Jesus - and I want to celebrate your newfound faith, too!

Final words

I feel I have to say this because there are so many who distort the truth and prey on new believers.  You may have been worried you will have to lose all common sense and give all your money away because some TV preacher has all the gullible people under a spell.  First, there is definitely some truth to it.  Second, not all preachers who appear on TV are charlatans, but it's hard to know the difference until you have been in the Bible and understand a bit more.

Yes, even the good churches do ask for an offering.  Their "product" if you will, is the good news of Jesus Christ.  Last time I checked, the bank doesn't take baptisms or salvation as currency.  Churches still have employees and pastors to pay and electric bills to keep you comfy during service, and the only way they can do that is through donations.

That said, take your time and DO NOT feel obligated to give until you understand why.  Seriously.  God doesn't want to twist your arm.  He would rather wait until you know why you are giving, if you decide to do so.  It must be YOUR choice.

Thank you for reading all the way to the end!  Hopefully this makes it much more clear why I follow Jesus and exactly what that means.  You are a blessing and I would love to hear from you!  God bless you!
